The police sometimes need to remind themselves there are more pressing crimes than going after a girl on Instagram for posting a photo. A 20-year old girl posted some anti-police street art she had seen. She did not know the artist, and a few days later was detained for more than four hours. An official police spokesperson said “What I can say is that a person has been arrested this morning in connection with threats on the internet. A new survey from the Pew Research Center shows that a majority of Americans would support legalizing marijuana. More than half of Americans have tried marijuana at one point or another, and generally speaking the War on Drugs is considered an expensive failure. In addition to that, Americans spend more per person on incarceration of small-time crimes such as possession than any other developed country.
