Eminem & Shady Records Partner With Genius

Eminem and his Shady Records imprint have officially partnered with lyric website Genius.

“Coming up we would always obsess over the lyrics from our favorite MCs,” Em said in a press release. “Picking everything apart, trying to get into their heads. I still do that today and Genius helps to make it a worldwide conversation. Pretty amazing to me.”

As part of the partnership, Eminem will continue to annotate his lyrics on the site (he did 42 in just April alone,) and Genius will now now be the official lyrics engine for his website and all other online properties surrounding Shady Records.

(Video) D12 Explain Why Eminem Isn’t Really On Their New Mixtape ‘Devil’s Night’


Back in 2001, Detroit rap group D12 made their mainstream debut with the release of their album, Devil’s Night. They were introduced to the world via their most famous groupmate, Eminem – so fans were rather disappointed to learn that Em has no songs on the group’s new Devil’s Night mixtape, other than the intro.

“He tried as much as he could, but he didn’t make it,” Kuniva said in a new interview. “We could’ve waited for him to go ahead and do it, but we wanted to really just let people know that we’re also emcees too and we can handle ourselves. We know how to do this sh*t.”

Fresh on the heels of the release of his sophomore album General Admission, a celebratory Machine Gun Kelly stopped by Ebro In The Morning (bottle of Henny in hand) to share the project with the Hot 97 listeners.

During his over 40-minute long sit-down with Ebro, Laura Stylez and Rosenberg, MGK explained why he feels this album is really his first album and even performed one of the standout tracks, “Everyday.” The Cleveland rapper also opened up about an old tweet about Eminem’s daughter that apparently got him in some real trouble behind-the-scenes, the status of his relationship with former enemy Yelawolf, his breakup with Amber Rose and more.
