It is estimated that over 200,000 cars were damaged or destroyed when Hurricane Sandy tore through New York at the end of October. So logically, those cars have to go somewhere right? That is where Calverton Executive Airpark comes into play. The airpark is on Long Island, and is very rarely used. The insurance company who is responsible for at least 15,000 of those damaged cars at this point agreed to pay the airport $3,200 for every acre of land they take up, which could wind up being close to $3 million. Auto: Fisker loses $33 Million Because Of Hurricane Sandy

Hurricane Sandy is still causing damage to the New York area 2 months after the storm. It seems it is still causing damage to car companies as well. Fisker, the luxury car brand is currently on the hook for $33 million in loses for 338 Karmas that were damaged because of the storm. The insurance company has denied their claim, which of course is headed to the courts. The average sticker price of each Karms is at least $100k, so no doubt both sides will fight until they get what the want. Read more after the jump. IamJOE357


(Video) So Sad: Hurricane Sandy Hero Drowns In Mexico

A young surfer that was known for rescuing several people stranded by Hurricane Sandy– apparently drowned this week off the coast of Puerto Rico. According to the AP, “A police statement Sunday has identified the tourist as 23-year-old Dylan Smith, whose body was found floating Sunday morning near his surfboard in waters off Maria’s Beach in the western Puerto Rican community of Rincon. Instruments Damaged By Hurricane Sandy To Be Replaced By Swizz Beatz

Coming up January 16th will be VH1’s Save The Music Foundation’s 2012 Songwriters Music Series finale. This event will be held at the Hard Rock Café New York in Times Square. And hosting the special event will be yours truly, Mr. Showtime. Swizz Beatz will be gathering some pals of his to help maintain the creativity of music for children in the Tri-State and NYC area. The Tri-State Save the Music Fund Relief program will be involved as well as schools impacted by Hurricane Sandy. They’ll be receiving new instruments. Beatz says, “I’m going to bring out some friends and put on a crazy show to support the VH1 Save the Music Foundation and the creation of the Tri-State Sandy Music Relief Fund so this creativity can thrive again for kids all over the East Coast.” A great thing to do.
