NFL: Aaron Hernandez Scores Small Win In Court, Makes Job Harder For Prosecutor

Prosecutors in a murder case against Aaron Hernandez won’t be allowed to tell a jury about two other killings with which the ex-New England Patriot is charged or the final text messages the victim sent to his sister, a judge ruled Friday. This is a big deal because now they have to use other evidence or other means to try and prove his guilt in the murder of Odin Lloyd. They wanted to show the jury how they felt the crimes were related to each other and now they can not.

Yesterday, a silent protest was held on the steps of Capitol Hill in regards to the grand jury decisions of both Mike Brown, and Eric Garner. Over a hundred Black staffers walked out of the Capitol in unison, a prayer was held by Senate Chaplain Barry Black stating that they were standing as a “voice for the voiceless.” Black prayed: “Today as people throughout the nation protest for justice in our lands, forgive us when we have failed to lift our voices for those who couldn’t speak or breathe for themselves…May we not forget that in our national history injustice has often been maintained because good people failed to promptly act. James “Whitey” Bulger is a well known crime boss from Boston, Mass. At the age of 83, Bulger is on trial for 32-counts of racketeering, 19 killings, extortion, money laundering and weapons violations. Bulger fled Boston in 1994 on the eve of an indictment and became one of the U.S.’s most-wanted fugitives until he was caught in Santa Monica, Calif., in 2011. After a Florida jury acquitted George Zimmerman of the second degree murder and manslaughter charges he faced for the killing of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, the first thing that came to many people’s minds were Martin’s parents. After the verdict was announced, Trayvon’s father spoke out via his Twitter page sending a special message to those who supported the Martin family in their time of need.
