Hot 97’s former Music Director Karlie Hustle resigned from her position in August to explore new territories, and it looks like she’s found a good fit! The Hustle bowtie creator has been named Director of Brand Relations for 9th Wonder’s label, Jamla Records. “For years, I have championed independent artists under the confines of various corporate infrastructures,” Karlie said in a statement. “It was tough, but I celebrated a few good wins. One of those wins became a relationship with 9th and Rapsody that has now led me to this new position. I’m so excited to be hands-on with an independent label like Jamla Records. I now get to be an even more integral part of the successes of artists that I am already such a huge fan of. Our goals to contribute to the culture in a meaningful way are so aligned, that it didn’t much surprise me when 9th called me at the top of the year with this opportunity.
