Aside from what you see today, the Los Angeles Lakers have been one of the greatest franchises in the NBA.  They’ve had legendary players on the team including Jerry West (the NBA symbol), Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (the all-time points leader in the NBA) , Magic Johnson, Shaquille O’Neal and of course Kobe Bryant.  Magic Johnson appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and discussed the Lakers, as well as who’s the greatest from the franchise.

Kobe has been associated with the Hublot brand for a few years now and they have already created two watches together but the company wanted to do something nice for him and his retirement. What came from that was a fancy dinner where they unveiled the third watch designed by the company in Kobe’s honor called the “Classic Fusion Kobe Bryant HeroVillain timepiece”. Only 24 of the HeroVillain’s were made so they will be hard to come by even if you have the money. An unexpected twist from the dinner was we also got some more clear details about what Kobe plans to do with his life after basketball.

Dwight Howard has been refreshingly honest lately and we are the ones benefiting. Recently he was on “Inside The NBA” where he confronted questions from Charles Barkley about people not liking him and also about how things were going in Houston. We all know before he was in H-town, Dwight had a not so memorable experience playing for the Lakers and with Kobe Bryant. Luckily for us, Dwight was asked about that relationship by ESPN’s Jackie MacMullan and he was still in that mindset of being honest about it all, instead of giving your typical “PC” answers.

Kobe Bryant doesn’t have many friends in the league but he does form bonds with players he sees himself in, including Rajon Rondo, Russell Westbrook and the latest Draymond Green.  During his 20th and final season in the NBA, Kobe zeroed in on Green, chatting with the young player during All-Star weekend and continuing to text throughout the season.  Green has been known for being outspoken, aggressive and a competitor so it’s no surprise Kobe latched onto him.  Bryant considers Draymond to be a “rare breed”, and one that can create the friction The Black Mamba believes every championship team needs.

Celebrities got in Formation on Sunday night during the Pasadena stop of Beyonce’s Formation World Tour.  Stars like Kerry Washington, Jamie Foxx, Wiz Khalifa and TONS more were in attendance to watch Queen Bey do her.  Retired Laker superstar Kobe Bryant and his wife Vanessa were in the building as well.  The couple showed off their rings and got affectionate during Beyonce’s hit song “Drunk in Love.”
