While in NYC recently, Wiz Khalifa stopped by the Whoolywood Shuffle to chop it up with DJ Whoo Kid about his new mixtape, 28 Grams. During the chat, Wiz also spoke on Nas’ remix to his single “We Dem Boyz,” his upcoming “Under The Influence of Music” tour with Ty Dolla $ign, Juicy J, Iamsu!, Sage The Gemini, Rich Homie Quan, Mack Wilds and DJ Drama, the previously unheard Pimp C verse which landed on “28 Grams“ and more. A ton of artists came into town last weekend for Hot 97’s Summer Jam concert, and have opted to stay the week to get some work done…whether club hostings, studio sessions or press runs. One such person taking advantage of all 3 is YG, who’s been out and about in the Big Apple all week, linking up with some major names at the hottest parties and getting in the studio with a ton of different people. During his interview with Hot 97’s morning show today, YG’s homie Ty Dolla $ign revealed he’s also been in the studio with a bunch of people, including French Montana. Nas Says He Wanted Nothing To Do With The “Time Is Illmatic” Documentary
The “Time Is Illmatic” documentary is set to be released in theatres and on-demand this coming October and it turns out that it wasn’t easy for the makers of the documentary to convince Nas to be a part of it. In an interview with Charlie Rose on PBS, Nasir shared how until he saw the hard work that One9 and Eric Parker (the makers of the documentary) put into it, he wanted “nothing to do with it.”
