IFWT Celebrates Black History Month: Honoring Oprah

Oprah is hands down the most famous talk show host in the world. She has been ranked the richest African American of the 20th century, the greatest black philanthropist in American history and was for a time the world’s only black billionaire. She has inspired and done so much for so many. Today and every day, we honor Oprah’s contributions to society. Read more about her below.

Bey was the focus of two major cable debuts, the first sit-down was with Oprah Winfrey for a special episode of “Oprah’s Next Chapter.” She speaks about Hov, Blue Ivy, expanding her family, Tweeting, how she’s changed and more. Bey speaks about Hov, “He’s a different human being and it’s really beautiful to see a young man, such a great father, and I’m so lucky.” And finally says something about Sasha Fierce, “I don’t really need Sasha Fierce. I don’t really have the alter ego that’s so different. We all know how cute Jay and Bey are together but little people know much about their relationship. During her interview with Oprah, Beyonce sheds a little light on the beginning of their relationship, including how long it was before they went on a date! The singer says that she wouldn’t be the woman she is if she didn’t go home to Jay. Bey’s full interview with Oprah will air one hour before her HBO Documentary on February 16. Oprah interviewed B for her show, “Next Chapter” which will air February 16th at 8pm. Following that, HBO will air the documentary, “Life Is But a Dream” that everyone is wanting to watch to see if Beyonce actually reveals much about herself. Bey threw a screening for the documentary with of course, Oprah, Jigga man, her mother Tina Knowles, her sister Solange, other friends such as The Dream (NO, he was wearing that swat meet hat – lol), Luke James, ?uestlove, Chris Rock, Angela Bassett and others. So, yeah she had some pretty BIG names helping her celebrate this soon to be shown life story. Oprah has some opinions on her insight to what she experiences saying, “People are going to feel a connection to her that they didn’t feel before because she shows us how real she is…that documentary is a game changer.” Well, Oprah approves. Beyonce has been in this game for how long and, she’s just know letting us know who she is…I don’t think I need to know anymore. Whoa, Guess Who Said They Got Whitney Hooked On Crack!

It’s been almost a year now since Whitney Houston’s tragic passing, but her memory will live on forever. Her brother recently sat down with their mother Cissy Houston for an interview on Oprah’s Next Chapter, and revealed that HE was the one that cut Whitney hooked on the drug that ultimately led to her downfall. So sad. Though his guilt is overwhelming, he explains, “You gotta understand at the time, the 80s, it was acceptable.” Watch the clip below. RIP, Whitney!
