A teacher at The Charter Schools of Boynton Beach in Florida has been suspended for giving her 8th grade students an English lesson using Lil Wayne lyrics. Although that sounds like a class I would LOVE to be in, the parents of the kids are outraged due to the explicit content in the lyrics. The teacher used Wayne’s “6 Foot, 7 Foot” song off of his The Carter IV album. A representative from the school said, “The lesson was for students to learn to identify literary devices. The teacher had already introduced Edgar Allen Poe and Shakespeare. Students were having difficulty grasping the concepts of literary devices such as: pun, simile, metaphor, so the teacher used colloquial material. This material did not meet the school’s standards and was not approved. An elementary school teacher has been suspended after her semi nude photo shoot pictures were sent to her bosses. 23 year old Kaitlin Pearson was suspended, with full pay, from South Street Elementary School in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. Pearson’s risque photos were sent to her bosses with a note saying,”Can you believe that this girl was hired to work with special education children in the Fitchburg schools?!!”. NFL Network Suspends Darren Sharper Without Pay After Being Arrested On Rape Charges
Reports surfaced today that former NFL star Darren Sharper was arrested on suspicions of rape. Sharper is currently free on $200,000 bail and is facing allegations on two incidents of alleged sexual assault, one that occurred in October 2013 and one in January 2014. Of course his employer has taken swift action.
