Ok so this is kinda exciting, With WiFi calling around the corner, it is inevitable that you will need a specific set of numbers to dial for a WiFi only phone, so we may jump off the cellular chain, which in turn would most likely open up the spectrum for more Data connection. Well If you want to know what’s it’s gonna be like, Hit the Jump!

Republic Wireless is as of right now the only company pushing WiFi calling(VoIP), even though they work with a Hybrid technology, when your not on WiFi, they jump on Sprint’s Cellular signal, but eventually them and all of the Carriers(maybe 3 to 5 years, but we’ll see), But when it does come, we will need a #, and Republic is getting ahead of it, so I went to sign up, and it seems that the # will be 15 digits long, which is longer than your Social Security Number, and probably will be impossible to remember, but on the other hand, who remember’s #’s any more, we just store ’em, and dial the Name now a days, so I guess the Length of the # doesn’t really Matter:

So I signed up to reserve My World WiFi Number, which will be allegedly be available sometime in 2012, once again it’s gonna be a sec before the other Carriers jump on board, but I want to add, the delay isn’t the technology(obviously since Republic is starting it), but because the carriers want to drain every dime they can from you!! But time will heal that open wound of a cellular Bill. When the Time comes to have a World WiFi Number, I’ll be ready:

If you want to be 1 of the 1st 100Million User’s to get a WWN(World WiFi Number), then Hit the Link to sign up, but let me warn you, I read the ‘Terms and Conditions’, Republic reserves the right to keep the # should you Not be on their system, OR move away from their System, AND the # you sign up for May not be the # you get. But don’t let that stop You, that’s how Cellular #’s were too, so a little legislation, you’ll be able to carry your WWN with you to other carriers, But I imagine Contracts will be nonexistent in the hopefully near future!!
