The NBA season will begin with Durant on the sidelines after he was diagnosed with a Jones fracture in his right foot that will keep him off the court for at least six-to-eight weeks. Durant and the Thunder are still considering treatment options, but the injury usually requires surgery.
Although LeBron James has said on record that he doesn’t believe the NBA has any true rivalries, James vs. the reigning MVP is the best thing NBA fans have in 2014. James said Wednesday that he reached out to Durant to wish him a speedy recovery. The Cavaliers and Thunder meet for the first time on December 11th, so it’s unlikely that Durant would be available.
Lebron James said: “I told him the game’s not the same without him out there”.
