Last night New Orleans welcomed home LiL Wayne & more for one of the most epic concerts of our time. For those that were Cash money day 1 fans , you realized how historic and awesome it was to see Manny fresh, Juvenile hit that stage like the old days with Lil Wayne. Even with a hint of the new school Young Money Cash Money’s Drizzy Drake was more than “turnt Up” on that stage. Drake was the hype man of the night , keeping the crowd hyped and ready for more. If we look back we all know how Baby fathered LiL Wayne and regardless of what they are going through now, there is a respect level. We see the same respect and genuine bond when we saw the hug between Lil Wayne & Drake. I grew up in the Hot Boys/ Cash Money era so I know how great it was to see everyone back together and enjoying that stage. Performing all the hits with Juvenile & Manny Fresh , and transitioning into the new wave of Cash money and how they have evolved.
Holly Grove New Orleans is where Lil Wayne was born and raised and reps in just about each and every one of his songs. It was only right to have him perform his Tidal concert live from New Orleans. Instead of dwelling on the horrific events of Hurricane Katrina 10 years ago , Weezy wanted to show appreciation to his home town with a commemoration and honor concert. Similiar to Drake’s OVO fest in Canada , maybe Lil Wayne will make this a annual event.
