Lena Dunham’s Newsletter Announces The Website ‘Women4Women’ By Sandra Bland

“I want to be able to share my story with young women out there,” Sandra Bland had told Women4Women co-founder, Chenai Okammor. Women4Women serves as a network and forum of “multi-age, multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, and multi-color women who will support each other on issues addressing a healthy MIND, BODY, AND SPIRIT,” according to the website. Before her death in a Texas jail cell, Bland had been working on the launch of the site. Women4Women’s launch was announced via the newsletter, Lenny, from actress and screenwriter among other things, Lena Dunham. Find out more after the jump.

Friends And Family Gather In Illinois For The Funeral Of Sandra Bland

Family and friends gathered at the hometown church of Sandra Bland this morning (July 25th) to celebrate her life and lay her to rest. Bland a 28-year old woman from Illinois was found dead in her jail cell after being arrested during a routine traffic stop. Bland’s death was ruled a suicide and the ruling is being disputed by her family. Read more below.


Sandra Bland’s Autopsy Results Released, Death Ruled Suicide By Hanging

It’s been ten days since the death of Sandra Bland, who was found dead in a Texas county jail cell. Bland was arrested after a routine traffic stop caught on dash cam turned violent. Her death was first ruled a suicide, however investigated as a murder. Yesterday (July 23), during a press conference the Waller County District Attorney has released autopsy results confirmed the death as suicide by hanging. Read more below.
