Kanye West Is No Longer Executive-Producing Rihanna’s ‘ANTI’
About a year ago, before we even got a title for Rihanna’s eighth studio album but were anticipating it just as much as we are now, it was reported that Kanye West would be executive-producing the project. The pair had just put out “FourFiveSeconds” together with Paul McCartney, a track that was set to live on ANTI, and Kanye revealed that had sparked the decision for him to oversee the project as whole. Unfortunately, that has changed. The underwhelming reception of not only “FourFiveSeconds” but of its follow-ups “American Oxygen” and BBHMM,” reportedly caused Rihanna to go in a totally different direction for the album, which clearly has caused some hold-ups in its release. Perhaps because they realized what they were doing wasn’t working, or perhaps because the delay interrupted Kanye’s current plans for his own album, they’ve nixed the executive-production idea all together.

When Kanye West came out as this dope artist from Chicago, I was dazed. He was hot. I found myself being an instant fan; College Dropout threw it over the top. However, his “biggest Achille’s heels,” as he describes his ego trip, began to kick in following that album, which was the reason I feel out of love with his talent as a whole. There was no way I could show support any more, but as 2015 closes, my attitude begins to change again. Just in case you didn’t believe Kanye West, when he announced that he will be running for President of the United States during MTV’s VMAs, the rapper gave us all a subtle reminder he was as serious as serious can be. During his performance at the iHeartRadio Music Festival, Ye switched up the lyrics to his song ‘Only One’ that features Paul McCartney. Kanye sang, “You’ll be the man you always knew you could be – 2020”. With that simple switch up, the rapper confirmed that 2020 is still very much on his mind. Check out the clip below.
