Is it a bad time for R&B right now? As rap albums like DS2, What A Time To Be Alive, Fetty Wap’s debut and more have done great numbers in 2015, Ty Dolla $ign’s Free TC and Jeremih’s Late Nights didn’t fare so well, and it doesn’t look like August Alsina or R. Kelly will either. What gives? Early sales forecasts have August Alsina moving 35-40k units of his sophomore effort This Thing Called Life, which pales in comparison to the 67k his debut did in 2014. R. Kelly’s The Buffet sees the same story, as it’s on pace for 32-37k, while his 2013 release did 133k. The final numbers will be in this weekend, but they’re not going to move too far from the estimates. Sheesh! Let us know your thoughts on what the problem could be!

August Alsina had some choice words for his label last night, after finding out his album, This Thing Called Life, was leaked days before its December 11th release date. On Friday, August Alsina stopped by Ebro In The Morning to discuss his forthcoming sophomore effort This Thing Called Life, in stores December 11. Amid talks of his now-infamous underwear pics on Instagram, family issues and of course the music, August addressed rumors that he’s dating model Miracle Watts. “I actually don’t have a girlfriend,” August said very matter-of-fact. “I’m single, but Miracle – she’s a beautiful girl. A very dope mind, you know what I’m saying?”

Album Tracklist: August Alsina – This Thing Called Life
August Alsina’s sophomore effort This Thing Called Life will be dropping next Friday, December 11. Just a week ahead of its release, the New Orleans crooner took to social media to reveal the project’s tracklisting, and features include Anthony Hamilton and Jadakiss (“Why?” part two?), Lil Wayne and Chris Brown.
