The White House Hires It’s First Transgender Staff Member
According to a statement released Tuesday, President Obama has appointed the very first openly transgender White House Staff member. A former policy advisor for National Center for Transgender Equality, Raffi Freedman-Gurspan will serve as an outreach and recruitment director in the White House Office of Presidential Personnel. People can say what they want about our President, but he is doing things no other Presidents have done before! On Thursday, July 16th, President Barack Obama made a special visit to the El Reno Federal Correctional Institution just outside of Oklahoma City. It was a historical day for our country because his trip to see the inmates marked the first visit by a sitting President to a federal prison EVER! During his visit to El Reno Federal Correctional Institution, Obama explains how he feels that our Justice System needs a ton of work. “We need a fairer Justice System,” the President went on to say.
