QuestLove’s New Book ‘SomethingToFoodAbout’ To Be Released In April

Questlove is set to drop a new kind of food book; somethingtofoodabout: Exploring Creativity with Innovative Chefs with Ben Greenman. The book is all about art, craft, creativity and food, and features fascinating conversations with ten inspiring chefs on what makes their creative clocks tick. somethingtofoodabout takes readers around the country: from NYC (where Quest is currently based,) to up-and-coming culinary hot-spots like Austin and Philadelphia (the city of his birth). The Roots frontman also goes west to Los Angeles, north to Portland and south to New Orleans, speaking with chefs about their personal histories, their creative processes, and their insights into innovation in food. Punctuated by still-life photography by Kyoko Hamada, and a foreword by Anthony Bourdain, somethingtofoodabout introduces us to the hidden things that influence some of America’s best chefs, and sparks our own curiosities about food as a cultural experience. Check out Questlove dish on his relationship with food and music below! Pre-order for the book will be available soon.

Former Member Of The Roots Sues The Group

In a new lawsuit filed by former bass player for The Roots, Leonard “Hub” Hubbard, he alleges that the group cut him out of his share of their earnings per his original contract with them, after he was forced to leave the group because of a bout with cancer. Hub helped form the group back in 1992, and stayed with them until multiple myeloma forced him to leave in 2007. According to Hub, his contract called for him to continue getting paid as a co-owner, but a former manager for the group sent him a letter in 2014 threatening that he was going to lose his health insurance and his cut of the band’s revenues. Hub is suing founding members Questlove and Black Thought and their current manager for an unspecified amount.
