NASCAR: Tony Stewart Found Not Guilty in the Death of Kevin Ward Jr.

Tony Stewart and the NASCAR community can get a good night’s rest as the trial involving the death of Kevin Ward Jr. has officially come to a close. The Grand Jury acquitted the three-time champ of all charges, declaring him Not Guilty. Also according to his toxicology report, Ward had actually been high enough for his judgment to be impaired during the accident ! (Video) Sports: Is Tony Stewart In Trouble? “New” Video Of Stewart Killing Kevin Ward During Race Surfaces

Tony Stewart may be in trouble after all, thanks to a “new” version of the video that showed him running over Kevin Ward Jr and killing him during a race last month in upstate, NY. According to reports this video is much more enhanced than the previous and has given the district attorney clear evidence to make a ruling. Unfortunately no one seems to know if the evidence totally clears Stewart or indicates he may of done something on purpose. I still truly believe it was an accident, but you can’t argue with video if it proves something else. The District attorney has scheduled a conference for next week to speak on what he found. Tony Stewart spoke publicly today for the first time since he accidentally killed 20 year old Kevin Ward during a dirt track race in upstate New York. Stewart has remained very low key since the accident, including skipping two of his own NASCAR races. He still sounds very shaken up about it and likely will be for a while. Hit the jump.


NASCAR: Sheriff’s Department Says There’s No Facts to Support Criminal Behavior in Stewart/Ward Crash

Kevin Ward Jr. was struck and killed after getting out of his car to confront fellow driver Tony Stewart during a caution period after Stewart had run him into the wall on the previous lap.  The sheriff’s department says they currently have two videos of the incident and have not found any evidence to support criminal behavior but the investigation is still pending.


(Update) NASCAR: Tony Stewart Changes Mind & Will Not Race Today After Hitting & Killing Kevin Ward

A graphic video made it’s rounds overnight of NASCAR driver Tony Stewart hitting and killing fellow driver, Kevin Ward Jr.  After an on-track accident including Stewart, Ward got out of his car while the race was still going on.  Ward appeared angry and walked towards Stewart’s car and continued yelling as Stewart was driving past but he ended up hitting Ward and sent him flying down the track.  Ward was later pronounced dead at the hospital.  Stewart is scheduled to race today and many weren’t sure if he would compete.
