When Mystikal was released from a long-term prison sentence in 2011, he seemed to be on the verge of a major comeback after signing to Cash Money Records. Unfortunately, though he’s put out a couple of songs and videos since then, nothing else has come out of the deal, and much like many others before him, Mystikal now wants out of his YMCMB contract. Walking the red carpet at the 2014 BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards on Friday night, the New Orleans rapper rapper revealed that he is clashing with the label and is ready to split. “I don’t really fit the mold of the situation I’m in,” Mystikal told Rap-Up TV. “I’m different, man. I have to be able to be the artist that I am. If I can’t do that, then it’s not gonna work for me.” There’s no bad blood, though! “That’s all respect. That’s family,” he said of the YMCMB camp. “We were family prior to this. And I thank them for the opportunity, but I don’t wanna be a liability to them ’cause it’s a waste of money, if nothing ever comes from it.” Hopefully they let him do this thing!

What I liked most about Wayne going on SportsCenter was you could tell his freestyle literally was off the top of his head and he didn’t go in there with some written material. After making an appearance on the show to reveal the cover art for the Carter V, he dropped some bars over the SportsCenter anthem and made it sound decent. Weezy has always been a big sports fan so him going on the network to promote the album was a no brainer.

Looks like Nicki Minaj’s “divaness” got her into a pickle. The “Anaconda” artist is being sued by IMP Entertainment for a whopping $50K. Back in February of 2011, Nicki was given 50 racks to host an NBA All-Star weekend event in Hollywood. According to the company, she showed up 90 minutes late to the event and left after only 30 minutes (which she was supposed to stay for an hour.) The entertainment company hit her with the lawsuit because she “acted like a diva” and “showed up late for an event,” which completely defeated the whole purpose of her getting paid for the hosting gig. Nicki’s camp has yet to release a statement on the lawsuit.
