Being at the top of an internet search is the cream of the crop. Companies pay millions of dollars a year for their advertisement to be at the very top; or even most popular. Similar to how companies promote a tweet, companies want to be beaming on the internet highway. Well it seems building hype and chaos over a product will no longer cut it. Not only the most-searched celebrity, but beat the iPhone 5 as the most-searched term period. Kim should be happy to know she beat the likes of Justin Bieber [No.1 last year] Miley Cyrus & Rihanna.

Apple wasn’t able to supplant Kim Kardashian from the top spot at Bing — that would’ve given the company enormous bragging rights over Microsoft, its long-time rival — but the latest smartphone from the Cupertino, Calif.-based computer company still managed to beat out the biggest news stories of the year, including the 2012 Elections, 2012 Olympics, Hurricane Sandy, the Gangnam Style Dance, and Kony 2012, among others. The iPhone 5 was also the most popular electronics search term on Bing, beating out a tie at No. 2 between the iPad and the Samsung Galaxy S3. (Bing’s top 10 list of most-searched consumer electronics actually contained five different Apple products).
