Jay-Z and Beyonce filed to trademark Blue Ivy’s name soon after she was born last year, but it was reported back in October that they were shot down, because of a business in Boston of the same name. However, it looks like they’re taking a step forward now. Details below.
The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office posted notice that their application to trademark “Blue Ivy Carter” faces no opposition earlier this week. They now have 3 years to prove they’re using the trademark for various things (like a line of children’s clothes), and knowing how business savvy both Jay and Bey are, I’m sure that’s NO problem. I guess we’ll be seeing some Blue Ivy stuff in stores soon!
