In 2002, Nas was set to hit that Summer Jam stage. He had an elaborate plan in mind for his set, which included a simulated lynching of then-nemesis, Jay Z. The year before, Hot 97′s program director Tracy Cloherty had given the green light to Jay to tear him down on stage, but felt that Nas was taking it too far this year, and put the kibosh on his plans. Outraged, Nas skipped the show all together, and went to another New York radio station and proceeded to tear down Angie Martinez, Funk Flex, Cam’Ron (who filled his now-empty slot with his Dip Set crew and DJ Enuff) and more. This would create a longtime rift with Hot 97, one that wasn’t repaired until his 2006 album, Hip-Hop Is Dead. The Dip Set beef took on a life of its own, and inspired almost all of their 2002 mixtape, Dip Set Volume 2. Nas’ explosive interview kicks the tape off as the intro, and Cam, Jim, Juelz and the crew continue to ride on him on tracks like “Hate Me Now,” “I Really Mean It” and “Show You How.” 12 years later, though, it’s finally all water under the bridge. Today, Cam posted a photo of himself and his former rival, after the pair were on the same flight from Vegas to New York. A source says they were totally cool, nothing was forced and there was zero tension between the two. Can we get a collab now?!

Kim Kardashian has made no secret of her desire for the cover of Vogue over the years, while Vogue HBIC Anna Wintour has simultaneously made no secret of her disdain for the reality star. Kim’s relationship with Kanye West has helped to warm Anna up slightly, as Anna is quite close with Yeezy, but that still didn’t stop Vogue staffers from infamously cropping Kim out of their photo gallery of the Met Gala last year. Kanye is unrelenting in his efforts to land his soon-to-be wife that coveted cover, but he hasn’t cracked Anna just yet. This past week, Kim’s younger sister Kendall Jenner flew across the pond for London Fashion Week, and while attending the Topshop Unique show, she sat front row with none other than Anna! This had to burn Kim, as I’m sure she would love to be able to schmooze the way Kendall likely was. Who knows, though…maybe Kendall could help to put in a good word! Drake Goes In On Rolling Stone Magazine For Publishing Negative ‘Yeezus’ Comments He Claims Not To Have Said
This feels like Future x Billboard all over again! Hope it doesn’t mess up Yeezy and Drake’s budding bromance like it almost did Future and Drake’s! Yesterday afternoon, a preview of Drake’s interview with Rolling Stone hit the web via photos of the soon-to-be-released issue. The late Phillip Seymour Hoffman covers the mag, but according to Drake, that was supposed to be his spot and he’s not happy about it. For those blasting him for saying that – I THINK what he’s saying is he would have rathered Rolling Stone wait until next month to publish his interview along with his cover, instead of promising a cover and then not delivering, but putting him in the issue anyway. They could have let Hoffman rock this go ’round and then let Drizzy have his shine. That’s my take on it!

When Macklemore beat out Kendrick Lamar in multiple rap categories at the Grammys this year, he sent a text to him, apologizing for what he calls “robbing” him. He then took it to Instagram to share it with the world, which almost appeared to be his way of deflecting any hate he was going to get for the win. Clearly, it didn’t work.
