NBA: Gregg Popovich Says Spurs Were Pathetic & He Hopes They’re Embarrassed After Overtime Loss to Knicks

On Tuesday night the New York Knicks pulled off stunning 104-100 overtime win over the San Antonio Spurs.  The Knicks became the first team in NBA history to enter a game with a sub-.200 win percentage at least 60 games into the season and beat the defending champions according to ESPN Stats and Info.  The San Antonio Spurs are in playoff contention but they’re fighting for home court in the strong Western Conference and a win against the Knicks should’ve easily helped them towards that goal.  Following the loss, Spurs coach Gregg Popovich was expectedly upset and ripped into his team.

Everyone knew the New York Knicks wouldn’t be good this year but Phil Jackson declared they would be a playoff team.  Well instead, they have the worst start in franchise history and now the Knicks new president is taking responsibility while trying to hush the “fire Derek Fisher” chants.


NBA: JR Smith Throws Jab At Knicks Organization, Also Says Triangle Offense Is Too Much Thinking

JR Smith will eventually be happy the Knicks traded him to a much better team, but at the moment feelings are still a little hurt. Smith threw a slight jab at the Knicks yesterday aside from basically complaining about how the triangle offense works. I must admit though I am on his side with his comments about the organization as a whole.

NBA: Carmelo Anthony Finally Admits The Obvious: ‘I Do Not Expect To Win A Championship This Year’

Carmelo Anthony finally admitted what we all knew, the Knicks won’t win a championship this year.  During his free agency tour, Anthony said winning was his priority so it didn’t make sense to some that he re-signed with the Knicks.  When he re-signed with the team on five-year, $124 million contract, he reiterated that it was because he believed in the team and not for the money.  Now he acknowledges that winning will take some time.
