This past weekend, battle rappers united for the long anticipated “Total Slaughter” event. For the main event, Joe Budden went against Hollow Da Don. During the third round, Joe was trying to get some bars out when the crowd started booing him. He wanted his mic to be cut off and said he’s done. Everyone was shocked and didn’t quite understand why the Mood Gawd would do that. However, there was a method behind his madness! “It didn’t get to me mentally at all, which is the thing,” Joey said. “In my profession, you don’t rap over boos. It’s like Rapper 101 to know that if you at a show and n***as is booing, ‘Ya’ll, go ahead and boo. I got paid already.’ I’m either gonna wait for ya’ll to stop or I’m getting the f**k outta here. But in battle rap it’s very different. You gotta deal with it. You gotta rap over it. You can’t let it look like it is affecting you. It wasn’t that I was mad they was booing. I don’t give a f**k about boos. But my thing in my head was, ‘My mic is already bad and I really do have some shit in this third if I could just get it out.’ I can’t fight a bad mic and a million people booing. But once you threaten people that are booing, they’re just gonna boo more. That’s exactly what happened.” WELP FOLKS, there you have it! Still #TeamBudden all day everyday.

Everyone should remember Cassidy’s heyday. Especially his bars. No, not the album, but his flow and punchlines. However, at one point in time, he decided not to return to the area in which his style could flourish; the battle rap arena. Looks like there could now be a change of heart from the Philly MC. Brooklyn raptress Babs shot to fame in the early 00’s on Diddy’s Making The Band, but even after the show went off the air and Da Band went their separate ways, Babs maintained a presence in music by becoming a fixture on the battle rap scene. Looks like she’ll be taking a break from that for a moment, as new photos posted to her Instagram this past weekend reveal she’s expecting! Congrats, Babs! Last night, comedian/Thisis50 host Jack Thriller posted an interesting message on his Instagram account, but it seems like he may have let the cat out of the bag a little too prematurely. Along with a photo of himself and Eminem (above, previously taken), Jack captioned it with, “Shoutout to my big brother SLIM SHADY for hitting me up last night and making me the new host of his battle rap reality show JACKTHRILLER.COM WORDS CANT EXPLAIN THE JOY IN MY HEART @uwbattleleague @unclevinrock #doglife #thrillergang #superstarsh*t.” He later deleted the post. That doesn’t mean it’s not happening, though! Perhaps Team Shady just isn’t ready to do the reveal just yet! “Don’t believe any battle show rumors until you hear it from us….,” Royce Da 5’9 chimed in to say. “#SHADY @JoeBudden @JoellOrtiz @CrookedIntriago.” Still not actually denying it, though. On Saturday night, Joe Budden made a huge move as an established artist stepping into the battle world and going against Hollow Da Don for “Total Slaughter.” Though his bars were CRAZY and he arguably bested Hollow 2-1, he kind of gave the W away when he put his mic down in the third round because he didn’t want to rap over the crowd’s boo’s.
