It looks like that YMCMB deal really didn’t pan out (he really jumped the gun on that one, huh?) but The Game is going to be just fine. Just last week, the Compton rapper revealed he’d officially signed a new deal with eOne and has a new album, Blood Money La Familia, slated for a September release. Now in a new interview with the LA Leakers, Game announced that he will follow up his game-changing 2005 debut album The Documentary with The Documentary 2, come this January. That should be interesting!
Wow, Teen Rapper Battling Deadly Cancer Signs With Sony
Now doesn’t that just melt your heart? Jeff Mortimer, a 19 year old rapper from West Palm Beach, Florida who goes by the stage name Young Jay, was diagnosed with a rare form of muscle cancer called spindle cell sarcoma when he was just 16 years old. Now 3 years later, having endured radiation therapy and chemo, he is battling a relapse. But has that stopped him in the slightest? No, Young Jay is still following his dreams and just signed a deal last week with Sony. Talk about an inspiration.
Hmm…Could This Be The Latest Artist To Sign To YMCMB?
Juelz Santana and Lil Wayne have collaborated numerous times over the last decade, so much so that at one point, a collaborative mixtape and/or album between the two named I Can’t Feel My Face was in the works…though it never came to fruition. A new report is claiming the Dip Set rapper may become the latest act to sign under the YMCMB umbrella, which doesn’t come as a surprise since the label is notorious for signing just about anyone and everyone! It’s a little strange since Juelz already comes from a “crew” and though YMCMB is an actual label, it’s a crew as well…but with so many collabs together, it does essentially make sense. However, Juelz has definitely been infamous for claiming things are going to happen that never materialize (Reagan Era, I Can’t Feel My Face, the Diplomats reunion album, God Will’n Part 2…shall I continue?) so I’m going to take this “news” with a grain of salt!

It feels like 2011 all over again! That year, Rick Ross signed his flagship artists Meek Mill and Wale to his MMG imprint right around the same time, and it was super exciting for fans as they wondered what to expect out of this new hip-hop collective. Now 2 years later, Rozay has added two new artists to the label, joining the existing roster of Meek, Wale, Rockie Fresh, Omarion, Stalley, Triple C’s (Gunplay, Torch and Young Breed) and DJ Scream.
